[NEWS] You Can Now Apply for 485 TR Visas from Overseas



Breaking news for graduates stuck overseas: You can now apply for the 485 visa from outside Australia!


New legislation just released today, here is an easy-to-read summary of what you need to know about the new requirements:

  1. You need to have met the Australian Study Requirement (ASR) within 6 months of a date between 1 Feb 2020 - 19 Sep 2020.

  2. You were overseas at some point during this period

  3. You need to apply for the visa within 12 months from the date between 1 Feb 2020 - 19 Sep 2020.


Did you graduate from August 2019? You have until Feburary 2021 (or later if you graduated later) to apply for this before you are no longer eligible! You should get onto this quickly before your eligiblity expires.


What if you're graduating soon?

The overseas application concession will also continue for future applicants, until Immigration annouces that the concession period is over.
