Victoria’s interim state nomination program is open for the 190 and 491 visas.
What does this mean? Who can apply? Here is everything you need to know about applying for the 190 and 491 interim nomination program in Victoria.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- already be living in Victoria
- already be working in Victoria (minimum six months employment)
- work in a highly skilled occupation in health or medical research which supports Victoria’s economic recovery and/or health response
- you must submit a registration of interest with Victoria to apply for the 190 or 491 visa by 5pm AEST, 21 September.
“My occupation is not on this list, what should I do?”
It’s important to note this limited program is to aid the current COVID-19 recovery. The program for all occupations will open in October/November 2020. Unfortunately, you will have to wait for the program to open. Luckily, not too long to go!
“I’m a nursing graduate, can I apply?”
Yes, but only if you have 6 months of employment. Unlike the previous 190 program where nursing graduates could apply without work experience, the current temporary interim program only allows you to apply if you have 6 months of work experience.
