The Partner Visa (Subclass 100) is a permanent visa that lets you live, work and study in Australia. It’s the second stage of the offshore partner visa pathway and is generally granted two years after the temporary 309 visa, unless you’ve already been together or married for at least three years.
This visa is also referred to as the “permanent offshore partner visa”.
What Does a 100 Partner Visa in Australia Allow You to Do?
When you apply for the 100 Partner Visa, you do so at the same time as your temporary 309 Visa application.
After two years from your initial 309 application, you will be invited by Immigration to provide the necessary documents for your permanent 100 Visa. Exception: If you’ve been married or in a de facto relationship for 3+ years (or at least 2+ years with a child together), you may be granted your 100 Visa at the same time as your 309 Visa.
Once granted, the 100 Visa allows you to become an Australian permanent resident with full rights to live, work, and study in Australia.
