What does Skylark Migration charge?
Our fee for the temporary stage is $4,850 excluding GST, agreed before we start. This fee comes with our 100% Money Back Guarantee*. No hourly billing, and no charge for individual emails or calls. The permanent stage is quoted separately.
The Department of Home Affairs application charge is separate and paid to the Australian Government, currently $11,710 for the main applicant.

Do I pay anything before I know if I’m eligible?
No. The six-question eligibility check and the 30-minute consultation with a registered migration agent are both free, with no obligation.
Our fee is agreed with you before any work begins: $4,850 excluding GST for the temporary stage, with the permanent stage quoted separately. There is no hourly billing and no charge for individual emails or calls.
What exactly does the money-back guarantee cover?
If your partner visa application is refused, we refund 100% of the service fees you have paid to Skylark, not a portion of them.
The Department of Home Affairs application charge is separate. It is paid to the Australian Government, currently $11,710 for the main applicant, and cannot be refunded by any migration agent.
How long does a partner visa really take?
Processing times vary. Right now, 50% of Subclass 820 visas are processed within 18 months, 90% are processed within 32 months. 50% of Subclass 309 visas are processed within 17 months, 90% are processed within 30 months.
The permanent Subclass 801 and 100 visas are usually assessed two years after you apply, but you may be approved sooner if you meet certain criteria.
We don’t have a joint lease or joint bank account – is that an issue?
No. Evidence is assessed across four areas, and strength in one can offset gaps in another. What matters is that the overall picture is consistent and credible. Our job is to find what you do have, present it properly, and tell you what’s worth building before you lodge.
Can we apply while I’m on a visitor or student visa?
Usually yes, but your current visa affects both your timing and your options. You still need to continue adhering to the conditions (e.g. work and study) of the current visa.
Some visitor visas carry condition 8503 – ‘no further stay’, which prevents you from applying for most other visas while you are in Australia. It must be waived before you can lodge onshore. Student and working holiday visas generally do not carry it.

Can you help if we’re in different countries right now?
Yes. If you are outside Australia, the partner visa pathway is generally the subclass 309 leading to the subclass 100.
If you are engaged rather than married, the subclass 300 Prospective Marriage visa may apply instead. That one has to be applied for while you are outside Australia.

What happens if the Department asks for more information?
It means the case officer could not decide on what was in front of them. You are given a deadline to respond, and your application waits until you do. It is not a refusal – but it commonly adds months as your application goes back in queue.

What if my application has already been refused once?
It is one of the more common reasons people come to us, and a refusal does not necessarily end your options, but it does change them.
You may have appeal rights with strict time limits, often 21 days, and a previous refusal is something the Department takes into account on any later application. The first thing we look at is why it was refused, because that decides whether the right next step is an appeal, a fresh application, or a different visa altogether.
