Hi everyone, Tony here from Skylark Migration. I want to talk to you guys today about state nomination.
Tony:
Let’s talk about Western Australia (WA) state nomination. So WA you can meet the nomination requirements in 3 ways. So firstly, if you’ve studied for at least 2 years in Western Australia and you’ve graduated, then you can meet the requirements that way. It needs to make sure that your nominated occupation is also on either of their occupation lists. But otherwise, if you haven’t studied for 2 years in Western Australia, then you’ve got two other streams. Maybe the best way to describe this would be, the General stream on the Schedule 1 list or the General stream on the Schedule 2 list. So these are two different occupation lists that essentially means that there are slightly different requirements. The shortest and simplest way to put it is Schedule 1. If you meet the requirements via Schedule 1, then you also need to show that you’ve got at least 1 year of skilled Australian experience, or at least 3 years of skilled overseas experience. Whereas that requirement doesn’t exist if you meet the requirements under the Schedule 2 list. But for both of these streams, you would also need to provide a contract of employment that lasts for at least 6 months from the date of nomination application.
